What is 10DLC: 10 DLC is a 10 digit phone number (example 555-555-5555) that businesses use for promotional and transactional texting.

What is 10DLC regulation: It is the new anti-spam regulation brought by the US wireless carriers and industry groups in collaboration with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). requires all businesses sending text messages over long codes in the United States to register their phone number with The Campaign Registry (TCR).

Why 10DLC regulation?

The idea here is you must own and declare the messages 💬 you send. And help mobile carriers know that you do not spam consumers. It is a step in the right direction to prevent spam and increase accountability in the entire messaging ecosystem.❤️

Consequences of non-compliance:  Businesses that do not register for 10DLC by May 31, 2023, will have to pay surcharges and could face messaging disruption starting June 1, 2023.. This could directly affect the performance of all their customer-facing functions.

Ways to register: The U.S. mobile carriers require all businesses that send A2P messages on a 10DLC phone number to register their brand and campaign with a chosen campaign service provider. As your messaging solution provider, SMS-Magic has dedicated a 10DLC team to help you register in time.
Registration process: You have to submit your brand and campaign details to TCR (The Campaign Registry). TCR authorities then verify your application. After successful verification, TCR grants you 10DLC registration.

Cost to register: One-time registration fees is $4. Thereafter, monthly recurring fees range from $2 to $10 for standard cases and upto $30 for special cases. Additional vetting for higher throughput (optional but recommended) costs $40.
